Kevin Feige denies Chris Evans Rumour

The pondering is over, Chris Evans will not be returning to our screens as Captain America. The rumour Evans would be returning to the character for a Marvel project, was started by deadline and had fans in a spin. Let’s face it, he made a really convincing and humble Captain America and I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing him don his suit and shield again. However, Marvel Studio’s head man, Kevin Feige, tells it to us straight.

“I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens,” said Feige during an interview with EW. “But I think that rumor was dispelled quickly by the man himself“

The rumoured Marvel Project

Of course now we know the Marvel project mentioned in the rumour, is of course; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It is due to hit screens on Disney + this week and focuses on the characters of Sam Wilson-Falcon and Bucky Barnes-Winter Soldier post Avengers: Endgame. It will not however, be featuring even a cameo appearance from Chris Evans in his spandex suit.
Of course we all know that when Steve Rogers aka Captain America returned the infinity stones, he sought out his own happy ending with Peggy Carter. On his return to the final timeline, he appears as an old man. He passes his mantle, or in this case, his shield, on to Anthony Mackie’s character, Falcon.

So, where is there room for an Evans return?
Well, one does question whether there might need to be a crossover for continuities sake? Chris Evans won’t be donning the spandex, instead perhaps, he could help the Falcon out with some training? He could show him some cool, shieldy moves?

Let us know if you would like to see Chris Evans return to our screens as Captain America. Or perhaps you feel like now is a good time to give that spandex suit a good dry clean?
